At a glance
- Five nights at Ett Hem in Stockholm
- Private design day in Östermalm and Nationalmuseum
- Artipelag by private boat through the archipelago
- Drottningholm and a private chef-and-sommelier evening
This six-day private Stockholm journey is built for travellers who already understand the Nordic capitals and want to go deeper into the things Sweden does exceptionally well: interiors, architecture, collecting, art, landscape and food. Five nights at Ett Hem keep the stay rooted in one address, so there are no hotel changes and no wasted packing days. Arrival is deliberately light, with chauffeur transfer, check-in and dinner at the hotel rather than immediate sightseeing.
The city programme begins with a specialist-led design day through Östermalm and Strandvägen, including Svenskt Tenn, Nordiska Galleriet and a private guided visit at Nationalmuseum focused on Swedish decorative arts and design. The signature third day moves from city to archipelago by private boat for Artipelag, where architecture, exhibitions, sculpture and a long waterside lunch are treated as one experience rather than separate stops.
The route then shifts from curation to landscape: a seasonal forest day centred on foraging, open-fire cooking and a slower lunch outdoors. Drottningholm provides a final contrast through royal interiors, gardens and the Court Theatre in season, followed by free time and a private chef-and-sommelier evening. The overall pace is structured but not overfilled, with personal shopping and free evenings preserved.
The itinerary
Arrival at a Stockholm Home
The first day is intentionally light, allowing the journey to begin without turning an international arrival into a sightseeing day. After the chauffeur transfer, guests settle into Ett Hem and keep the evening centred on the hotel, with no further scheduled programme.
- VIP arrival service
- Chauffeur collection on arrival in Stockholm
- Private transfer to Ett Hem
- Hotel check-in and time to settle in
- Dinner at Ett Hem can be arranged
- No scheduled evening programme
- Overnight at Ett Hem
The Language of Swedish Design
The first full day establishes the design context for the journey. A private specialist connects Stockholm's architecture, interiors and twentieth-century design heritage with contemporary retail and museum collections, while enough flexibility remains for personal shopping or an independent evening.
- Private architecture and design specialist
- Östermalm and Strandvägen
- Selected architecture and urban design context
- Visit to Svenskt Tenn
- Visit to Nordiska Galleriet
- Private guided visit at Nationalmuseum
- Focus on Swedish decorative art, craft and design
- Personal shopping time or free evening
Artipelag by Private Boat
The signature day leaves central Stockholm by water and treats the journey into the archipelago as part of the experience. Artipelag brings together contemporary architecture, exhibitions, sculpture and landscape, with a long lunch before returning to the city.
- Private boat departure from central Stockholm
- Boat journey into the Stockholm Archipelago
- Arrival at Artipelag
- Private guided art visit
- Artipelag architecture and current exhibition
- Sculpture in Nature trail
- Long lunch overlooking the surrounding landscape and water
- Return to Stockholm by private boat
- Dinner at AIRA or another carefully selected restaurant on request
From Forest to Table
After the more structured design and museum days, the programme slows down and moves into the landscape outside the city. The content follows the season rather than a fixed ingredient list, combining guided foraging with open-fire cooking and a relaxed outdoor lunch before returning to Stockholm.
- Later departure from Stockholm
- Transfer to a selected forest area
- Private wilderness or outdoor guide
- Seasonal search for edible herbs, berries or mushrooms
- Foraging content adapted to the date and natural conditions
- Open-fire cooking
- Outdoor lunch
- Return to Ett Hem
- Free evening
Drottningholm & Private Dining
The final full day moves from contemporary Stockholm to Sweden's royal and decorative heritage. Drottningholm is approached by water, with time for the palace and gardens rather than a rushed visit, followed by a deliberately unscheduled period before a private evening built around food and wine.
- Private boat journey to Drottningholm
- Drottningholm Palace interiors
- Palace gardens
- Drottningholm Court Theatre (in season)
- Return to Stockholm
- Free time after the excursion
- Private chef dinner in a suite or private residence
- Sommelier service
Departure
The final morning remains uncomplicated and is shaped around the guests' onward plans. Check-out and any free time are coordinated around the confirmed departure arrangements.
- Unhurried final morning
- Hotel check-out
- Free time where the onward schedule permits

Accommodation options
Ett Hem · Stockholm
The primary base for all five nights, avoiding hotel changes throughout the journey. Ett Hem's residential character and design-led setting make it particularly well suited to a programme centred on Swedish interiors, architecture and food.
Bank Hotel · Penthouse Executive Terrace Suite
An alternative central Stockholm option for guests who prefer a more urban hotel setting and a substantial private terrace. The Penthouse Executive Terrace Suite provides separate living and dining space as well as its terrace.
Grand Hôtel · The Bernadotte Suite
A signature-suite alternative with a particularly relevant connection to Swedish design: the suite is named after Sigvard Bernadotte, who worked with Svenskt Tenn on the hotel. Its two-bedroom layout and separate dining room can also suit an in-suite dining concept.
