Copenhagen, Ordrupgaard, Finn Juhl’s House, Klampenborg, Louisiana Museum and the North Zealand coast — Denmark
Private design & culinary journey
This six-day private Copenhagen design tour is built for travellers who want Denmark’s design legacy to be the centre of the journey, not a short museum stop. Five nights at Hotel Sanders provide one comfortable base, with private airport transfers and a first view of Copenhagen from its canals.
The programme moves from the Danish Modern collection at Designmuseum Danmark into specialist-led architecture and selected appointments in furniture, lighting, jewellery or ceramics. A private chauffeur then connects Ordrupgaard, Finn Juhl’s House and carefully chosen Arne Jacobsen sites around Klampenborg. A second chauffeur-led day is reserved for Louisiana Museum, its sculpture garden, architecture and coastal setting. Studio access is arranged on request, with free time protected for shopping or independent browsing.
Food is treated with the same judgement. A private route through bakeries, Torvehallerne, smørrebrød and Danish producers provides local context before one major Copenhagen culinary experience, selected according to the guests’ preferences. The final dinner remains deliberately casual after the main tasting experience. It is strongest for couples, collectors and design-minded private travellers who value specialist context, handled logistics and enough time to experience Copenhagen at their own pace.
Arrival is kept intentionally light. A private transfer takes guests from Copenhagen Airport to Hotel Sanders, followed by time to check in and settle after the flight. A private canal cruise provides the first introduction to Copenhagen before a relaxed dinner at the hotel or a small chef-led restaurant.
The first full day establishes the design context for the journey. A private visit to Designmuseum Danmark focuses on Danish Modern and the ideas that shaped furniture, interiors and everyday objects, followed by a specialist architecture programme. Selected appointments can be arranged around the guests’ interests, while the afternoon remains free for shopping and independent exploration.
A private chauffeur takes guests beyond central Copenhagen for a deeper look at twentieth-century Danish architecture and furniture. Ordrupgaard and Finn Juhl’s House form the centre of the day, supported by a private English-language museum guide and an architectural lunch. The return route can include selected Arne Jacobsen sites around Klampenborg and Bellevue before a free evening.
The culinary day begins informally, using markets, bakeries and local producers to explain how Copenhagen eats beyond its destination restaurants. The guided programme is planned to finish by approximately 15:00, leaving time to rest before the journey’s major culinary evening. The restaurant is selected according to the guests’ preferences.
The final full day moves north with a private chauffeur to Louisiana Museum of Modern Art. Art, landscape and architecture are considered together, with time for the galleries, sculpture garden and coastal setting rather than a rushed museum stop. A long lunch slows the middle of the day before the return to Copenhagen and a deliberately relaxed final dinner.
The final morning remains uncomplicated, with time to prepare for departure before a private transfer to Copenhagen Airport. Pick-up is planned around the confirmed flight and hotel check-out requirements.
Five nights at Hotel Sanders provide one central base for the complete Copenhagen programme, avoiding hotel changes and unnecessary luggage movement.
A centrally located, design-led Copenhagen hotel can be proposed as an alternative to Hotel Sanders.
A suite or higher room category at Hotel Sanders, or a comparable premium Copenhagen property, can be arranged on request.
